Macau hotel room rates fell 42.1% year over year to an average daily rate (ADR) of $ 1,175 MOP during Golden Week of Chinese New Year.

The occupancy of Macau hotels, which are usually fully booked during the Chinese New Year, was only 48.3% – a 4.6 percentage point decrease from the previous year – with 5-star hotels occupying 50.6% and 4% -Star hotels show 49.8%. . The average occupancy rate in 2-star hotels fell by 23.0 percentage points to 24.6%, while pensions fell by 13.3 percentage points to 27.3%.

The room prices were also very successful. According to the Macau Government Tourism Bureau, average room rates of 5-star hotels fell 38.7% to $ 1,445 MOP, while 4-star hotels saw a 52.5% decrease to $ 734 MOP. Likewise, the average room rates of 3-star and 2-star hotels were $ 780.0 MOP and $ 206 MOP, respectively, decreasing 47.0% and 79.4%, respectively.
