As the tourism sector prepares to welcome visitors when public health measures are lifted, the Government of Canada continues to support businesses and organizations with investments that help attract visitors to our communities and rural areas.

Government invests in initiative to promote local tourism

Darren Fisher, Parliamentary Secretary to the Secretary of State for Economic Development and Official Languages ​​and Secretary of State for Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), today announced a $ 220,000 investment for Mactaquac Marine to grow its unique houseboat vacation business and meet customer demand.

This contribution will help Mactaquac Marine build two additional houseboats and create five seasonal jobs. It will also attract visitors to the local communities, allowing them to discover the unique places, food, experiences and adventures nearby.

Today’s announcement further demonstrates the Canadian government’s commitment to supporting Canadian jobs and helping business owners get our economy back on its feet.
