Good view, Va. – – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s soccer team (1-1) traveled to Southern Virginia University (1-3) on Saturday night (March 6) to take on the Knights. The Seahawks scored a 3-0 win and took their first win of the season.

How it happened

  • The Seahawks left the Knights 8: 4 in the first half and finally found the end point in the 41st minute with a goal from Jason Caro. Lucca Mazzola fed Caro a well-placed feed for the score. St. Mary’s College went 1-0 into halftime. The Seahawks doubled the number of shots recorded by the Knights, 8-4.
  • Little time wasted St Mary’s College extending their lead with a 2-0 goal Isaac Ekobo. Less than four minutes later, Ekobo tore another shot past the opposing goalkeeper to extend Seahawk’s lead to 3-0.
  • The Seahawk Defensive Unit limited the Knights to just three shots and zero corners in the second half to claim victory. Matthew Kopsidas In the last half, the Knights saved the lonely shot on goal.
