The Marcellus softball team won two games against Howardsville Christian on Monday.

The victories were achieved with 16: 1 and 19: 4.

At the start, no team scored in the first inning. Marcellus would then pull one in the bottom half of the second inning. The Lady Wildcats would score 10 more points in the third and foruth to seal the game.

Marcellus hit 16 hits in the game. Gabby High collected four of these hits, she also drove in three runs. Ruthie High had three hits, including a double and a triple, with three RBIs.

Emma Holmes had two hits with two RBI, Erin Morgan got two hits and one RBI.

Clare Flory, Rachel Mihills, Hannah Wildes, and Jamie Tackett each had a hit. Lea Cardella also added a base hit for the Wildcats.

Mihills took the win inside the circle, hitting eight in four innings of work.

Howardsville scored the first three runs of the second game and overtook them in the first. Marcellus responded with three of his own in the first and eight in the second and third innings.

Morgan secured two home runs in the game and drove four. Flory and Holmes both had three hits and had two runs in the game, Ruthie High added two hits and two RBI. Tackett and Mihills each added two hits with a run-in run, Cardella were credited with two run-in runs.

Mihills took the win, scoring eight hits in three innings.

The wildcats are now 8-7.
