The Maryville Tourism Committee announced the public launch of the community’s tourism website at visitmaryville.org.

The development of the website was made possible by a Marketing Platform Development (MPD) grant from the Missouri Division of Tourism. The MPD is a competitive 50/50 matching grant program for one-time marketing investments that can be used beyond the fiscal year of the initial investment.

The committee tells any retail company, restaurant, attraction, or travel destination to leave visitmaryville.org/contact to upload information, photos and links to social media. On the website, select “How can we help you?” then “List my Business”. Once the form is completed, an email will be sent to the staff making the list.

If a Maryville business is already listed, the owner or manager is asked to review the listing for accuracy. Corrections or additional information should be emailed to tourism@maryville.org.

There is no fee for listing your business or destination visitmaryville.org. The Tourism Committee hopes the site can support local businesses through cross-promotion and future marketing efforts supported by the temporary guest tax approved in late 2016.

Last year, the Tourism Committee, in collaboration with Jacob Heflin, dba User Experience Designer, developed a tourism portal to promote Maryville’s unique assets, travel destinations, restaurants and shopping experiences. Born in Maryville, Heflin graduated from Maryville High School in 2004 and Northwest Missouri State University in 2008. He currently lives in Des Moines, IA.
