Massachusetts Department of Transportation [MassDOT] issued a recommendation reminding residents of resources to make informed travel decisions and to pack essential items such as face coverings that are required for specific trips.

The vehicle with a high occupancy [HOV] The lane on I-93 between Boston and Quincy will open Wednesday, November 24th from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The HOV lane will be closed on Thursday November 25th and Friday November 26th and will resume normal operations on Monday November 29th. The Sumner Tunnel turning lane will not be operational on Thursday, November 25th or Friday, November 26th and will resume normal operations on Monday, November 29th.

MassDOT also ceased construction operations nationwide on Tuesday, November 23rd at 5:00 a.m. Construction will resume on Monday, November 29th at 9:00 p.m.

Mass DOT also reminds travelers to check MBTA holiday plans for Thursday, November 25th, at. The state holiday also closes most state offices, including the motor vehicle registry.

Massport expects an increase in passengers at Boston Logan International Airport around the holidays. The agency continues to take a number of precautions at the airport to ensure passengers have a safe and healthy travel experience. These initiatives include:

  • Face-covering is required for all passengers and visitors at the airport;
  • Travelers departing from Logan should be aware of any travel restrictions at their destination;
  • Coronavirus tests are available on the Arrivals level of Terminal E and the Departures level of Terminal C at Logan Airport. The XPresCheck test facility offers a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or nasal swab test, a blood antibody test and the rapid test.
