The Hotels Network (THN) today announced the appointment of Mercedes Blanco as VP of Strategic Partnerships worldwide. Effective immediately, she will be responsible for leading the company’s strategic alliances, building strong relationships with key partners in the hospitality industry, and working with them to develop creative solutions that add value to everyone involved.

As a leading company in the travel and hospitality industry with over 15 years of experience in defining strategies and leading international sales and marketing teams, Mercedes comes to THN as an important member of the management team. Building on her experience working for brands such as BCV a Rategain Company, Maritim Hotels, Value Retail, Microsoft and AC Hotels by Marriott, she will be a trusted advisor to potential clients and customers, sharing her industry knowledge and product expertise.

Originally from Spain, Mercedes moved to South Florida in 2014 to bring her international business acumen to the US travel industry. With two bachelor’s degrees, two master’s degrees and vocational training at IE Business School and Harvard University, Mercedes brings a high level of intellect and industry experience to her role at THN. In addition, as one of the founding members of Women in Travel Thrive, Mercedes is actively shaping a better future for women in the travel industry.

Mercedes has been a committed member of the travel industry for many years. As a former member of the Board of Directors of IE Tourism Club, the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), Mercedes understands the challenges hoteliers face today and how to solve them. Both inside and outside the travel industry, she is known for having a heart of gold, dedication to others and volunteering for UNICEF, the Spanish Red Cross and Barretstown.
