Wondering how to travel fast in the New World? Aeternum is huge – did you expect anything different from an MMO? – but luckily there are some quick travel options. If you’re not walking around between locations during a fetch quest, you can opt to fast-travel to towns and hamlets that you’ve previously visited. It’s not free, however, so you can’t skip the card with fierce abandon. Let’s get down to business and see how you can explore Aeternum a bit faster.

How to Travel Fast in the New World

If you want to travel anywhere quickly, the first thing you need to do is to find the place you want to travel to. You can either use the Fast trip Function to reach an agreement, or the Call back to Inn Function if you have visited an inn and stayed there.

The Recall to Inn feature has a cooldown of about an hour. So only use them when you are sure you want to go to that particular place. It pays off to hang out with your friends in a specific place that you have all visited before instead of wasting resources on quick travel. The downside to this is that you have to register at the inn – like checking in and staying there – and you can only sign up for one at a time, so you don’t have a list of inns to choose from.

But fast travel has its price – Azoth. You can earn this blue resource by completing quests. How much Azoth you need to spend to travel fast depends on the base cost of the location, the cost of the distance – the further you go, the more Azoth you need – and the burden cost, which takes into account the amount of gear you carry. You can get fast travel discounts by a. join New World faction or a company, and you may get another discount if your faction controls the area.

Exploring the map on foot is the best way to get familiar with Aeternum and find all kinds of quests. But the ability to move faster is always there. Fast Travel Shrines were available in beta, but now that the game is fully released, we’ve still encountered some.
