Today SimWorks Studios released a new trailer for its upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator add-on Okavango Delta.

This one is quite interesting and weird. Instead of simulating an airport or a city, it beautifies the vast Okavango Delta in Botswana, Africa.

It offers 9,000 square kilometers of landscape, over 12,000 animals, nine custom airfields, six detailed camps, and numerous helipads for you to explore the beautiful surroundings.

The package is now scheduled to be released on April 3rd.

Basically, it’s a beautiful tourist destination for virtual pilots to explore by light aircraft, including SimWorks Studios own Zenith CH701 STOL.

It is certainly a different and possibly more relaxing way to enjoy the simulator than flying from city A to city B in a half-straight line.

Natural environments like Africa are good for this type of low and slow exploration, as cities are usually better observed and enjoyed at medium altitudes.

You can see what I mean in the trailer below.

We recently released ours Massive interview with the head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumannwhich provided a lot of new information about the Sim’s present and future. A few days ago we heard more too, including A trailer for World Update 4 with France and the Benelux countries.
