SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA.

Hundreds of students at the University of Santa Barbara, California have something in common with Eloise of the Plaza and Zack and Cody of Suite Life.

You will be accommodated in hotels.

Ramada by Wynhams director of sales and marketing, Drew Wakefield, said they provided rooms and posted a welcome gauchos sign over the lobby door.

“They came on the property thinking they had won the lottery, and even if they didn’t get the one, they actually got an A-Plus when they stayed at the Ramada by Wyndam of Santa Barbara,” said Wakefield.

Students can enjoy king-size beds, WiFi, free breakfast, the hotel pool and spa.

You can also feed the tree-lined koi fish, ducks, and turtles on the property.

Like other hotels that host students, the Ramada is near a bus stop that can help students get to campus if they don’t have a car or bike.

In a letter to the community, Chancellor Henry Yang said his staff had been working to put students on a waiting list during the pandemic.

It’s not clear how many neighborhoods students will be staying in hotels, but Wakefield said they would help out while rooms are needed.

The hotel’s general manager happens to be a gaucho and has other UCSB graduates on the staff.

We’ll be more responsive to the temporary hotel accommodation solution on the news tonight.
