The charming town of Yountville is a luxury destination in Northern California that everyone should experience at least once. Along the main street are hotels with the most fantastic curb appeal. Tucked in with all the outstanding restaurants, galleries, and wine tasting rooms, each hotel offers something different. Yountville boasts high-end hotels and spa retreats providing relaxing vacations and wonderful long weekends 2 hours north of the San Francisco Bay area.

The main road through Yountville is a refreshing 1-mile stretch that is walkable or can be seen by a free trolley ride. Free parking is available everywhere. People come from all over to browse the stores, eat in fantastic restaurants, taste wines from all over the region, and stay in fabulous luxury hotels.

Yountville’s location in the Napa Valley means that there are an unlimited number of activities to experience and enjoy. Hot air balloon rides, bicycle rides, vineyard tours, and many other activities are available nearby. For those who wish to relax, spa packages are available, or guests can simply enjoy the tranquility of their room. Yountville is a small, peaceful town with some of the finest hotels in the beautiful Napa Valley.

Pro Tip: Rather than having a highway running through the center of town like other destinations, Yountville’s main street runs parallel to the St. Helena Highway. All of the traffic is left outside of town so visitors can slow down and relax while enjoying the sights.

3. Napa Valley Lodge

Napa Valley Lodge is a quiet respite near the north end of town, which does not claim to be a resort or a bed and breakfast. Napa Valley Lodge is locally owned and operated. The management is concerned with providing each guest with personal service and a unique experience. The lodge’s Tuscan flair is evident in the room design and the courtyard area. Guests will often use Napa Valley Lodge as a base camp to explore Youngville and the Napa Valley.

The lodge does not have a restaurant or a bar. What they offer are comfortable rooms, some with fireplaces. There are also suites available. Veranda rooms with wood-burning fireplaces are a wonderful touch that creates an intimate experience. Guests love the courtyard area which has hammocks and a pool to enjoy. A morning buffet is served each day for all guests, and a short walk will bring you to several Michelin-starred restaurants.

Take advantage of the spa for a facial or massage, or go for a ride on one of the hotel bicycles. A tandem bike is available on a first come, first served basis, and there are regular bicycles available as well. A charging station for electric vehicles is also on-site.

After making a reservation, you will receive a call a few weeks before your stay to assist with whatever might be needed. Many guests come back regularly, and Napa Valley Lodge strives to learn who their guests are and what they want to see and do during their stay. Excellent, caring customer service is a priority for management and staff.

Pro Tip: Each afternoon at 3 pm, the lodge provides fresh-baked cookies for the guests. The cookies are so popular that they are usually gone in a few minutes. If any cookies are unclaimed, a text message is sent to all guests, alerting them so they don’t miss out!

Maison Fleurie French Country Inn.Steven Ward

5. Maison Fleurie – A French Country Inn

Maison Fleurie is a beautifully restored and curated building, initially constructed in 1873 as the Magnolia Hotel. Stone from local quarries supplied the materials to build the hotel. Maison Fleurie is the oldest hotel in the Napa Valley.

After years of disrepair, the Magnolia Hotel was purchased and renovated in 1993. Designers were careful to preserve the old stone. The new owner acquired many items decorating the interior during her travels to France. Lavish gardens around the property are brimming with roses and other beautiful blossoms, which led to the hotel’s new name of Maison Fleurie – which translates to “flowering house.”
