Spanish Tourism Minister Reyes Maroto said on Wednesday that the End of the alarm state May 9th marks the restart of national travel. Bookings for the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands were “triggered” by the announcement that the alarm condition was ending. This means a “positive” recovery in mobility.

The minister expressed her confidence in herd immunity reached by Augustalthough she reiterated that this “will depend on the experts”. Vaccines shouldn’t create “tension”, they should build trust.
