EAST LANSING, Michigan (WLNS) – Local hotels and restaurants prepare for a busy football weekend as the Spartans battle the wolverines in the Spartan stadium. Large crowds also mean that many people need shelter.

A hotel manager in downtown East Lansing says he saw people book rooms for this game nine months ago.

“Most of our home games were sold out. As they continue to win, we continue to see attempts to get into the hotel and there are increasing requests from VIPs and guests trying to get closer to the stadium, ”said Jason Nelman, General Manager of the Graduate Hotel.

In a few days, the streets of downtown East Lansing will be full of fans. Hotels and restaurants in the area are preparing for this weekend by stocking up on supplies or having more people show up for work.

“Countless people have asked about rooms for this weekend. It was a challenge and an opportunity to attract as many people as possible, ”said Emily Childers, the Graduate Hotel’s sales director.
