St. John Neumann defeated Sugar Valley on Friday afternoon 24:10 in baseball.

The Golden Knights took the lead with three runs after the first inning and never gave up the lead. JerVal Weeks-Shuler, Jeff Hamilton and Naseer Dymeck all had two hits, and Weeks-Shuler and Hamilton both ran four runs each.

Kane Wright won on the hill.

Lewisburg and Mifflinburg were drawn 4-4 after eight innings when play was interrupted due to darkness. Mifflinburg prevailed 3-3 in the third inning and both teams scored a run in the seventh.

Hayden Ward went 2v2 and combined a five-inning one-hitter with Cooper Kitchen when Canton defeated Muncy 13-3. Kitchen added a hit and two RBIs while Brendan Matthews was 1-2 with one RBI and two runs. Ethan Landis had a hit, two RBIs, and a run. Gio Persun scored an RBI double for Muncy.

Loyalsock defeated Bloomsburg 3-1. Nick Barone took a double 2 to 4 and Cooper Larson went 1 to 3. The Lancers held Bloomsburg for just three hits.

• Central Columbia defeated South Williamsport 7-1 in high school softball. Mea Cosentino threw a one-hitter for the Blue Jays and knocked out 13. She threw 71 pitches, 55 of which were strikes.

The two teams were goalless through four innings before the Blue Jays scored four hits in the fifth inning when Payton Crawford scored a triple home run.

• In boys ‘tennis, Muncy beat South Williamsport 4-1. The Mounties’ only win was the No. 1 singles, in which Logan Ogden beat Kaleb Meyer 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 in a tough match .

Ernie Coppes won for the Indians 6: 4, 6: 1 against Ross Flerlage and Marshall Rothrock 6: 0, 7: 5 against Brock Weaver 3: 1.

Hughesville defeated Bloomsburg 5-0. Logan Burns won 6-0, 6-3 on the No. 1 singles, Mikey Dylina won the No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1 and the No. 3 -Singles brought Austin Young a 6-0 6-3 win.

With the win, the Spartans are now 3-4.

Towanda defeated North Penn-Liberty 6-1. The Mounties won doubles No. 2 when Ian Beck and Dylon Eveland scored a 6-1, 6-3 win over Ryan O’Connor and Nate Spencer.

Loyalsock defeated Shikellamy 3-2. Jett Pulizzi scored a 6-1, 7-5 win in the No. 3 singles for the Lancers. Loyalsock won both doubles matches by Forfeit.

Sean Jensen fell as the No. 1 individual for the Lancers to CJ Doebler, 6-7, 6-2, Superset Tiebreak, 11-8.

The Lock Haven University golf team ushered in a new era when Ashley Lawson, Kylee Lobb and Kayla Mushala tied for the first time in school history at the PSAC Championships in Hershey.

The trio of student athletes will go down in LHU Athletics history as the first member of the Bald Eagle Golf Team. In August 2018, the LHU announced the inclusion of women’s golf on the university level.

For coach Chad Anthony, who was named the first women golf coach in school history in March 2020, the PSAC Championship marked the first time he had seen his team in a competitive setting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lobb shot a 132, Lawson a 141, and Mushala a 143.

Junior Caden Fisher and sophomore Rylie Mong garnered top rankings to highlight the Friday afternoon of the Mansfield University athletics team at the Alfred State Early Season Invitational.

At the end of the meeting, the Mounties achieved a total of eight top 5 placements.

Fisher started the day in the 110-meter hurdles and finished first with a time of 17.01, a second faster than the rest of the field.

Mong, a graduate of the Warrior Run, took her second straight win with a PR in the pole vault with a mark of 3.35 meters. This brand brings them to third place in the conference ranking.
