PANAMA CITY BEACH, Florida (WJHG / WECP) – Panama City Beach attracts hundreds of thousands of people each year and fills hotels and condos to full capacity. Some would say that there is a greater need for more accommodation options.
While Visit Panama City Beach doesn’t have official numbers for this summer, pre-pandemic numbers show the beach was home to more than 90,000 people a day. It is said that the grand opening event for a new upscale hotel will help with just that.
“The opening of a national flagship hotel here on the beach in Panama City only shows the level of things we are achieving here,” said Mayor Mark Sheldon.
The Radisson Panama City Beach Oceanfront offers 139 rooms and suites with private balconies.
“All right on the ocean, as we heard earlier, which makes it a dynamic luxury resort for the people,” Sheldon said.
But it doesn’t stop at luxury. Economic development and job creation are considered to be some of the top qualities this hotel brings to the beach.
“A global company like Radisson coming to Panama City Beach will create so many jobs and its global reach will bring so much to the region for tourism,” said Hotel General Manager Michael Novak.
The opening of this hotel created around 50 new jobs.
“It can double during the season so there are quite a few jobs here,” said Novak.
“We look forward to more jobs for Panama City Beach,” said Sheldon.
But the beach officials have been looking forward to this for some time. The hotel held a tentative opening in April which announced that they were 100% occupied. .
“It’s just another great place for our family, friends, and tourists to enjoy some of the world’s most beautiful beaches,” said Sheldon.
When the tourist season comes to an end, this is just the beginning for this hotel that some say inspires the art of living in the moment.
This luxury resort also offers on-site amenities such as an outdoor pool, fitness center, free parking and free WiFi throughout the hotel.
Novak said they hope the Radisson Panama City Beach Oceanfront will be the number one resort on the beach.
