FORT WORTH, Texas – Travel connects us with the people and places that matter most – but getting there doesn’t have to be overwhelming. To help customers make informed decisions about where to go and what to expect when they arrive, American has improved its travels Planning tool, powered by Sherpa.

“Travel planning is a little different these days, so helping customers prepare for travel is more important than ever,” said Alison Taylor, chief customer officer. “The improvements to Sherpa’s travel tool are available from aa.com This means customers can spend less time searching for travel guidelines and more time planning a trip they will never forget. “

The new interactive map includes Coronavirus (COVID-19) travel guidelines for popular destinations, including new destinations like Culican (CUL) in Mexico and long-standing destinations like Miami (MIA) and Austin, Texas (AUS). With one click, customers can view quarantine, document or test requirements and book trips. Travelers can also subscribe to notifications for specific destinations they are interested in, and updates on testing or documentation requirements are sent in real time via email.

If a COVID-19 test is required, customers will see locations nearby that offer tests to make their planning easier. This new expansion is currently available for travel to Mexico and the Caribbean. Other countries will follow shortly.

American launched this travel tool in September to ensure customers are ready for the air with tools that will make it easier to navigate their travel policy for COVID-19. As the guidelines have evolved, so has the tool, which is now also available in Spanish, Portuguese, French, French, Canadian and Dutch.

The revision comes just in time to offer a time-saving tour guide when booking summer trips and using one of the new routes as part of the new one JetBlue Alliance to places like Tel Aviv (TLV), Santiago, Chile (SCL) and Athens (ATH). Customers can also explore aa.com for great fares to travel to amazing destinations in the United States.
