AMES, Iowa – Caleb Grill and Izaiah Brockington combined scored 37 points and the 11th Iowa State pulled out of southeast Louisiana for a 77-54 win on Sunday to remain undefeated.

Grill finished with 20 points in 7v11 for the Cyclones (11-0), including 6 out of 10 from the 3-point range. Brockington added 17 points in 7v12 shooting.

Barbecue shots from across the arch helped the state of Iowa set up the 14-7, 34-23, and 39-24 tours. The Cyclones made eight out of ten shots as they extended their lead to 53-34 with less than nine minutes of play.

Southeastern (4-8) shot just 37 percent for the game, including eight out of 29 from 3-point range. Gus Okafor led the Lions with 13 points and took eight rebounds.

The last time Iowa State won its first 11 games was in the 2013-14 season, when the Cyclones went 14-0.

The Cyclones held their opponents at 57.1 points per game through Sunday and have now held eight opponents at 60 points or less.

Both teams were shaky at the beginning. The state of Iowa made four turnovers in the first four minutes. Southeastern only made three of their first 16 shots, including 1 for 10 from 3-point distance.

The cyclones are expected to visit Chicago state on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
