GALVESTON, Texas – Norwegian Cruise Line is bringing its newest ship to Galveston with cruises starting in 2022.

The ship named Norwegian Prima begins with two round trips to the western Caribbean from Galveston: a three-day cruise on October 27, 2022 and a four-day cruise on October 31, 2022 – part of the “inauguration” of the new ship’s sailing bucket list routes for every year, ”reported the Houston Business Journal, citing Norwegian.

From the winter seasons 2023 and 2024, the ship will have its home port from Galveston and will offer seven-day voyages to the western Caribbean from Galveston. The ship will call at Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; Harvest Caye, a private island in Belize; and Roatan Island, Honduras.

The ship is 300 meters long, has more than 142,000 gross tons and, according to the shipping company, can accommodate 3,215 guests with double occupancy.

The company announced its onboard entertainment options in a press release about the ship, including a three-story go-kart circuit called Prima Speedway.

The ship will sail on its maiden voyage on August 17, 2022 on a route from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to Reykjavik, Iceland, with stops in Zeebrugge, Bergen and Geiranger in Norway and Akureyri and Isafjordur in Iceland. after Cruise Hive.
