Norwegian Cruise Line announced today that it is the first cruise line to have a seasonal homeport in Panama City, Panama, offering round-trip service across the Panama Canal with Norwegian Jewel starting March 20, 2022.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has signed a multi-year agreement with the Panama Tourism Authority that allows the company to seasonally have a home port at the Colon Cruise Terminal as well as the Fuerte Amador Cruise Terminal on the Pacific side of the country and adjacent to Panama City.

The new contract is part of an agreement that will provide Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings with transit benefits through the Panama Canal from 2022 to 2024 while reversing the home port.

“Part of our company’s mission is to create unforgettable experiences in some of the world’s most extraordinary places,” said Harry Sommer, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. “This new agreement allows nearly 24,000 guests to experience the beauty of Panama every year.”
