OXFORD, miss. – Ole Miss picked up the momentum from his Labor Day win over Louisville Saturday night in a 54:17 skirmish between the Austin Peay governors.

Ole Miss (2-0) scored offensively at will for most of the night and Matt Corral left the game towards the end of the third quarter to make way for the substitutes. The rebels entered the field in patriotic helmet decals for their military recognition game on Saturday night. It is the fifth season in a row that Ole Miss wears the decals.

Corral had another strong performance from the signal-caller position, throwing for 281 yards and five touchdowns and charging for 35 yards, bolstering his stats and perhaps making his Heisman hopes a little brighter in Week 3. Speaking of lavish play, the Part of the Rebel Offensive also made a stronger appearance than a week ago, combining over 200 yards. Henry Parrish led the way at 72.

Dontario Drummond had another brilliant performance after being named Pro Football Focus Best Receiver in Week 1. Drummond was targeted 10 times with six receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns. His opponent Jonathan Mingo also got seven passes for 99 yards and a pair of scores.

On Saturday, the Ole Miss defense faced a number of pass-interference calls, two of which were on scoring drives for the governors.

Despite some sloppy play, the defense, like the offense, continued some momentum from week 1 and forced two ball losses in the evening, one of which was a scoop-and-score from Sam Williams in the first quarter.

The Rebels held Austin Peay up to 404 yards overall offensive, much of which played in the cleanup time.

There is only so much to take away from a game against an FCS opponent, but the Rebels have taken care of business in Week 2 and they will host Tulane in Oxford next week.

The game starts at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
