Recent studies reveal Gen Z’s online travel preferences
(“What Do Generation Z Travelers Want From Online Travel Brands?” Aug 31, 2021 via Phocus Wire)
Generation Z travelers born between 1997 and 2021 are the focus of several recently published travel studies, including a recent study by Phocuswright Research. According to the studies, Generation Z travelers (who have never lived without readily available internet access) are increasingly relying on online travel resources (especially OTAs) for travel inspiration, planning and booking. Although this generation is less branded and generally less likely to participate in loyalty programs, participation in OTA loyalty programs is higher among this population than any other generation. The Phocuswright study also found that this generation is more open to booking trips through other unique brokerage options like Google or travel membership services. What are Generation Z travelers looking for when planning trips? The studies show that inclusivity, diversity, sustainability and safety have the highest priority.
