OKLAHOMA CITY — No. 1 Oklahoma cruised through day two at the Hall of Fame Classic in Oklahoma City, run-ruling a pair of opponents. The Sooners topped San Diego 11-0 in five innings before finishing the day with an 8-0 victory over Houston in five.

The offense hit six homers on the day, blasting a trio in each game, while the pitching staff tossed a pair of shutouts and combined for 17 strikeouts and just five hits allowed.

In Saturday’s opening game vs. USD, four Sooners recorded a hit and five brought in at least one run. Red shirt senior Taylor Snow hit her first grand slam as a Sooner to pace the team with four RBIs.

OU put up eight runs on four hits in the first inning. Red shirt senior Jocelyn Alo hit her then-98th career home run to open the scoring before a sac-fly RBI from sophomore Alyssa BritoRBI single from junior Mackenzie Donihoo and Snow’s grand slam added to the Sooner outburst.

Senior Grace Lyons added a solo shot in the second prior to a two-run single from Donihoo capped the OU scoring in the contest.

Snow finished 1-for-2 with a grand slam and four RBIs, while Donihoo went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in.

sophomore Nicole May went the distance in the circle, striking out seven and allowing no runs, four hits and no walks.

Game two saw the Sooners put up eight runs on seven hits to beat the Cougars for the third time this season in run-rule fashion.

Red shirt senior Hope Trautwein threw a gem for her seventh win of the season, going four innings, striking out nine and allowing no runs or hits to just two walks.

Three Sooners went yard, led by Alo’s third consecutive game with a blast for career homer No. 99 and Lyons’ second straight game with a long ball. sophomore Jayda Coleman hit her third homer of the season on a three-run shot in the first.

After Coleman put OU up three after one, Snow continued her blazing 2022 season with a two-run single in the second before homers from Alo and Lyons put the game away in the fourth.

Coleman went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs while Snow went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs batted in. Alo chipped in two RBIs in a 1-for-2, one HBP performance.

Trautwein fanned nine in the first four innings before freshman Jordy Bahl closed in the fifth, King one and allowing no runs, hits or walks.

OU closes the Hall of Fame Classic on Sunday with an 11:30 am CT game vs. Iowa.
