PALISADE, Colorado (KKCO) – A sign of the times – Palisade town is pushing for more tourism by putting up a sign promoting the town near the Cameo Shooting and Education Facility outside of Palisade.

City officials say they want to use the traffic the shooting range generates to attract people into the community. Not just to stay in hotels and BNBs, but to stay here and shop and see what the city has to offer.

“We want to raise awareness that Palisade is here and that you will know five minutes later after you have finished your routine or competition. Make them aware that there is a lot going on in this beautiful little town, ”says Ellen Turner, member of the Palisade Board of Trustees.

The city donated Colorado Parks and Wildlife Land to the shooting complex. The new sign will contain the website that is supposed to help drive tourism to the east end of the valley.
