The 1920s Art Deco building was designed by the Burnham Brothers and has recently housed the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago and then the St Jane Chicago Hotel, which closed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The property was bought by Montage International, owner of the Pendry brand, and has now reopened as Pendry Chicago.
