Firing a firearm, causing panic: Orange Place

Police were dispatched to an initial report of a brawl at the Courtyard at Marriott shortly after 7 p.m. on June 30, and learned along the way that shots had been fired. The officers found a Chevy Malibu trying to leave the scene and held the three inmates at gunpoint.

Staff and a witness reported that a group of women had left the hotel when two of them got into a fist fight that was broken up by a clerk, a 61-year-old man from Shaker Heights who was driving to the 20-year-old Cleveland driver Malibu, whereupon he heard several shots and saw the muzzle flash of a weapon raised in the air.

She then tried to flee with her 16-year-old sister and an 18-year-old south euclidean, adding that the gun police had confiscated a Magnum Desert 9-mm with an 8-round magazine and a Gamo laser sight, even though it was not hers admitted firing twice. The police also found two 9 mm shell casings at the scene.

Numerous surrounding departments responded to reports of shots fired and helped at the crime scene. The suspect was given personal misconduct liability and a court hearing and was then released.

Suspicion, misconduct, drug paraphernalia: Orange Place

Police were called to Extended Stay North around noon on June 21st to report a man who may be carrying a gun covered in bath towels. The hotel staff soon discovered that the man was hiding a sword and not a weapon.

In the parking lot, officers found a 33-year-old Lakewood man getting out of a Buick LaCrosse and saying he had a Honshu sword in the back seat. He wasn’t a guest at the hotel and said he wandered the lobby, washroom, and hallways waiting for a friend to sharpen his sword.

Police found a Cleveland Police arrest warrant for assault with a fatal weapon and five smoking pipes in the car, mostly glass with one from a plastic pill bottle.

Orange police cited him for misconduct and drug paraphernalia, returned $ 940 in cash along with his cell phone, and then handed him over to Cleveland cops.

Item found: Orange Place, Harvard Road

A patrolman found a Motorola XPR 3500e walkie-talkie-style radio on the floor of the Drury Inn & Suites parking lot at around 8:15 am on June 30th and turned it on. The officer asked who was on the other end via the security channel that was set.

The answer was the Jack Thistledown Racino in North Randall, where the radio was handed over to a security guard currently on duty.
