Allegheny County Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a woman at a hotel on New Years Day in Monroeville. The Monroeville Police Department was dispatched to the Rodeway Inn at around 9:30 am on January 1 for reports of “a large amount of blood outside a room.” Local officials found 37-year-old Matthew Gribschaw covered in blood in front of the room. Monroeville police checked the room and found a 49-year-old woman dead and “severely mutilated,” officials said. Allegheny County police believe Gribschaw was responsible for the murder. Gribschaw is charged with criminal manslaughter, abusing a corpse and manipulating evidence. Police say Gribschaw is being held in Allegheny County Jail pending charges.
