Ridgeland Police responded to two different shootings at almost the same time in the same hotel. It happened at about 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday at the Drury Inn & Suites on County Line Road. Officers were called to the hotel after a witness reported that he saw someone walking through the parking lot with a gun and looking into vehicles, Chief John Neal said. When officers arrived, found the man and found he was in possession of a controlled substance and a firearm, Neal told the parking lot on the southwest corner of the Drury Inn, “Neal said in a press release.” This first one No firearms were fired for service call. “This issue has been taken into custody, and when officers ended this call, a disturbance broke out in the parking lot on the southwest corner of the Drury Inn,” Neal said in a press release. “No firearms were fired on that first service call. RPD officers responded to the hotel parking area to investigate the disruption. As the officers approached, a gun was fired. As a result of these shots, the initial investigation revealed a 16-year-old man from Jackson shot a 38-year-old Jackson man. “
Neal said the man who was shot was the teen’s uncle. The teen ran away from officials as they approached, the boss said.

Both the teenager and his uncle were taken to hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Neal said.
Neal had a message for the parents after the shooting.
