A 23-year-old Davenport man is behind bars after police say he had a stolen motorcycle in his hotel room

Sevan Spooner faces charges, including second-degree theft and possession of burglary tools.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on May 20, Davenport police went to Motel 6, 101 W. 65th St., Davenport for a report of someone who refused to leave the hotel and had a motorcycle in his Had hotel room.

Spooner was the only resident of the room where a 2014 Honda Grom was reported stolen from Iowa City.

Spooner insisted he knew nothing about the motorcycle. But when officers checked the video from the hotel, they saw Spooner take the bike off the back of his truck and bring it to the hotel room.

Additionally, Spooner wore the healthy clothes – jeans and a lifeguard sweatshirt – like the suspect in the video, the affidavit said.

Spooner was arrested on an arrest warrant and held in Scott County Jail on $ 43,000 bond.

“At the time of this warrant, the defendant has since painted the entire cab of his truck white to change the description,” the affidavit read.

Spooner is due to appear before Scott County Court on August 5th.
