The Senate Environment and Energy Committee also approved S1071, a bill sponsored by Gopal and Senator Thomas Kean, R-Morris, Somerset, Union, and co-sponsored by Brown, to increase funding for beach restoration.

Rep. Vince Mazzeo, D-Atlantic, is a primary sponsor of Companion Law A639 in the congregation, and Rep. John Armato, D-Atlantic, is a co-sponsor. It was assigned to the Assembly’s Environment and Solid Waste Committee.

First responders, bills for micro businesses

Armato joined other Congregation Democrats in sponsoring A5443, a bill to provide appropriate funding to support micro-businesses struggling through the pandemic.

The bill provides for $ 25 million in federal funds to be given to New Jersey to the Economic Development Authority (EDA) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to support micro-businesses that have fewer than 11 full-time employees.

The Assembly’s Trade and Economic Development Committee presented the bill on March 8th.

Armato is also the main sponsor of A-3804, a bill designating 9-1-1 operators as first responders. It was approved by the Committee on the Law of Assembly and Public Safety on March 8th.
