PANAMA CITY, Florida (WMBB) – Summer is just around the corner and an event is reminding the community of the potential dangers of the temperatures involved.

On Thursday, various social institutions gathered in the parking lot of the Panama City Mall for the “Safe Summer Kickoff”.

Aimed at young children up to eight years of age, the event provided a range of resources for parents, including developmental studies, car seat safety checks, diapers, books, goodie bags, and more.

The participants of the event value the proper safety of the children, especially when traveling more.

“We know that parents start to travel, to be on the go. We wanted to make sure they did it safely, especially in their car seat with their child, ”said Sharon Trainor, executive director of the Healthy Start Coalition. “It is never good to leave your baby in the car seat and car unattended, even if you walk around the store for just a minute.”
