In Mexico, beach destinations lead the recovery of tourism. Among them, Puerto Vallarta stands out for its registered hotel occupancy.

According to the Datatur system of the Ministry of Tourism, hotel occupancy in Puerto Vallarta was 47.9 percent in March 2021 (Easter holidays). Currently, 66 percent is the maximum occupancy of a hotel in Jalisco.

In addition, STR (Tourism and Real Estate Data Specialist) ranked Puerto Vallarta as the top tourist destination in Mexico in the same month.

The trust of travelers in Puerto Vallarta is supported by the implementation of biosecurity protocols, a strategy that contributes to the recovery of tourism.

A recent survey by the Public Trust for Advertising and Tourism Promotion in Puerto Vallarta stated that most hoteliers report a steady increase in bookings from June to August 2021, which is projected to exceed 55 percent.

On the other hand, Puerto Vallarta International Airport received 1,577 flights in April 2021.
