Redmond, Washington pays vacationers to go to, increase tourism

The city of Redmond, Washington state, will pay for it traveler hoping to visit the COVID-battered tourism industry,

“The solution was to actually give [visitors] A voucher that can be issued right here in our town and that will benefit our local vendors, our restaurants, our retailers, etc., “Peter Klauser, Tourism Director of Experience Redmond, told FOX News. “America’s Newsroom.”

UNITED TO RESUME THE PRE-PANDEMIC BOARDING PROCESS

Located east of Seattle, Redmond, Washington is offering a limited number of travelers a $ 100 voucher to spend at local businesses, but only after booking two nights at participating hotels.

“Redmond, home and birthplace of Microsoft, is a great city full of activities and attractions. We are known for our nature, our hiking trails, our parks,” added Klauser.

Travel advertising comes when the coronavirus lockdowns are lifted and many states begin to relax travel restrictions.

The US Travel Association reported that it decreased 42% and hotel occupancy decreased 33% from 2019 to 2020.
