IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its boutique lifestyle offering in the Southeast US with the opening of Hotel Indigo Columbus on Riverfront Place, a new premier destination for travelers to the Columbus, GA area. The stunning new build is WC Bradley Real Estate’s latest project, which has been dedicated to development and innovation in the region for more than 50 years. The hotel opens is the seventh for the brand in the state.
The Hotel Indigo Columbus on Riverfront Place is located in the heart of downtown Columbus, steps from the 22 mile Chattahoochee River Walk, Mathews D. Swift Park and the Whitewater Express, for business and leisure travelers looking for tranquility and relaxation. Visitors will find shops, restaurants and nightlife within walking distance.
The hotel tells the stories of Columbus with a nod to its rich past that runs through the design and guest experience. Subtle decor pays homage to Fort Benning, with green woven handles on the bedside tables and the numbers “243 ‘” on the dresser to indicate how far above sea level Columbus is. Old pine at the elevator entrance has been reclaimed from one of WC Bradley’s mills, and artwork throughout the hotel celebrates Columbus’ rich history as an artist’s haven, wildlife sanctuary, military outpost and technology hub.
The property is home to two restaurants: Eighteen85 Rooftop Bar & Kitchen and Denim & Oak Riverfront Restaurant. A tribute to the year the WC Bradley Company was founded, Eighteen85 features a design inspired by the blues legend and Columbus native Ma Rainey and is the only rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking the Chattahoochee River. Denim & Oak, named for the textile industry that once flourished in the area and the forests that surround it, offers farm-to-table dining in charming riverside surroundings.
The hotel has 107 stylish rooms, plush beds, spa-like bathrooms and unbeatable waterfront views of the Chattahoochee River. The hotel also offers room service, an outdoor heated pool, a 24-hour fitness center and valet parking. The Hotel Indigo Columbus on Riverfront Place also has two separate function rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, which are equipped for private or business events with more than 100 participants.
