NATCHEZ – Red Oak Capital, which foreclosed on Hotel Vue and Super 8 Motel and took possession last week, said the hotels are up and improvements are underway.

“We are in full control,” said Joseph Elias, chief operating officer at Red Oak Capital. “We have hired most of the staff again – we did that on the first day – and are improving the rooms and getting them decorated for the Christmas season.”

Elias and his company have hired a hospitality management team from JDH Developers of Atlanta to run Hotel Vue.

“We plan to keep the hotel open and improve the rooms and operations,” he said. “We’re even bringing up the rooms that are now run down. We provide all supplies that the staff lacked. The staff now even has a direct deposit (from their paychecks). We plan to do better than before while we seek a new owner for the property. We have a good management team on site. “

Elias said he was impressed with the Natchez community and how hospitable it was to him and his company.

“Natchez is a beautiful city. And this is a beautiful piece of land and it seems important not only to outside people, but also to the community, ”Elias said.
