With the introduction of new COVID-19 testing requirements For travel to the US, some US travelers are reluctant to travel to Mexico, which has become a hugely preferred travel destination amid the pandemic. Anyone planning to enter or return to the US must present negative results from a PCR or antigen test performed within 72 hours of travel.
In response to that, the popular Pacific coast destination is from Riviera Nayarit step up efforts to make testing easier and more available to its international visitors. Hotels and hotel chains in the area are ready to assist guests with their testing needs by either providing on-site services or arranging services through agreements with local hospitals, clinics and laboratories.

“Riviera Nayarit is a destination known for its hospitality. This situation enables the hotel industry to increase its support for travelers and further stimulate economic reactivation,” said Marc Murphy, executive director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB )).
So far, 36 hotels in the destination have implemented new protocols to make COVID-19 testing more convenient for their guests, as shown in the table below.
Riviera Nayarit also takes all necessary precautions to ensure that it remains a safe travel destination. Hotels, restaurants and companies in the tourism sector adhere to the health and safety standards set by the Ministry of Health of the Mexican federal government. Currently, hotels, resorts, tour operators, and beaches are only working at a 50 percent allowable capacity to enable social distancing.
Riviera Nayarit has also been recognized by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). “Safe Travels” stamp to comply with the international standards set by the organization for increased hygiene, sanitation and safety protocols in all tourist facilities.
