Royal Caribbean sent guests who booked an Alaskan cruise in August a list of health protocols to expect on board their cruises.

As the ships resume operations, Royal Caribbean will send the health logs for booked passengers on these voyages, which are normally expected each month.

The shipping company says these new protocols are especially important for unvaccinated children between the ages of 2 and 11.

This information only applies to departures from Seattle in August 2021.

Vaccine requirements

All guests aged 12 and over must provide proof of vaccination, e.g.

Testing

At the terminal: Unvaccinated guests aged 2 to 11 must take a PCR test for COVID-19 when checking in at the terminal. The registration data for this test will be sent in advance by email.

Before disembarkation: Unvaccinated guests aged 2 to 11 must have an antigen test on board within 24 hours of the end of the voyage. Vaccinated guests who need an antigen or PCR test to enter their country of destination can receive this free of charge on board. The login details will be announced during the cruise.

Face masks

Indoors, CDC guidelines require that all guests ages 2 and up wear masks unless they are actively eating or drinking.

The CDC allows guests to remove their masks at venues and events fully dedicated to vaccinated parties. According to Royal Caribbean, vaccinated guests will find “many of these options”.

Masks are not required in your clients’ cabin when they are with their tour group or outside on the open decks, unless the environment is crowded. Updates are shared when changes are made to the CDC form guidelines.
