The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Tourism announced the appointment of Gloria Guevara Manzo, former Minister of Tourism in Mexico and former President of the World Travel and Tourism Council, as Senior Advisor to the Minister of Tourism.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Manzo will use its 25 years of experience in the public and private tourism sector to help strengthen international collaboration, develop the skills of human cadres, and support ambitious tourism plans and major investments in Saudi Arabia in Vision 2030 .

Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khatib said the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia has seen a major development boom since the National Tourism Strategy was launched in September 2019, supporting growth and job creation across the kingdom.

Al-Khatib said Manzo’s extensive international experience during her presidency of the World Travel and Tourism Council and her successful experience in developing the emerging tourism sector as Minister of Tourism in Mexico will help accelerate investment and investment in tourism projects in the kingdom.

Manzo holds a Masters degree from the College of Business Administration at Northwestern University in the United States.
