SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – Alec Llerena scored a hat trick and led the Skidmore College men’s soccer team to a no-conference 6-0 win against SUNY Cobleskill in the rain on Wednesday night.

Llerena scored his first three career goals and had an assist from the bench for the Thoroughbreds, who improve their record to 6-3. Cobleskill drops to 2-7.

Skidmore led thanks to two from Llerena and 4-0 into halftime Isaac Myrans 12th minute header from a corner. Hyungbin Kim scored his first career goal to make it 5-0 in the 50th minute. Previously, he got his first point on Llerena’s first goal. Llerena completed his hat trick with a penalty in the 81st minute. Max Mian and Joey Park also collected assists for the thoroughbreds.

Skidmore dominated the total number of shots with 38: 1 and had a 10-0 lead in corner kicks. Kim and Llerena finished the game with six shots each to lead the game. Weber had five on limited service.

Bobby Stratts and Ben Gibeau teamed up for the shutout in goal for the thoroughbreds. Wyatt Reed had 10 parades for Cobleskill.

Skidmore ends its regular season with seven consecutive conference games starting on Saturday, October 2 at 2pm at home against RPI.
