MEDFORD, Ore. – – Another big second half gave the Western Oregon University soccer team a win. Even at one in the break, the Wolves defeated Humboldt State 3-0 in the second half to take a 4-1 win on Sunday in a neutral game at Medford that was counted as an exhibition competition.

Alyssa Tomasini opened the scoring in the 10th minute when she buried a goal after an assist by Gabby Pulliam. For Tomasini it was just the beginning of a great day.

Humboldt State scored the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute and scored a penalty.

Tomasini then opened the second half as she started the game and scored another goal that would turn out to be the winner. Tomasini broke up in the box and finished a submission from Piper Matson in the 53rd minute for the 2-1 advantage.

Pulliam, who helped score an earlier goal for Tomasini, once again provided further assistance to help Tomasini record the hat trick. After a corner kick from Pulliam in the 77th minute, Tomasini headed the kick into the goal for the 3-1 lead to record her hat trick.

Lilly Nowatzke She finished on goal in the 86th minute when she scored her first college goal after an assist from Matson in the center of the penalty area to score the fourth goal of the game for the Wolves, creating the final 4-1 lead .

WOU finished the game with a total of 13 shots, six in the first half and seven more in the second half. Tomasini went ahead with five shots.

Tomasini finished the game by three goals to score the hat trick, while Nowatzke scored her first college goal. Matson and Pulliam each added two templates.

In the target, Morgan Mihelich started and went the first 30 minutes to rally a parade and allow a goal. Kendall Rooney went the next 30 minutes and garnered the win. Emily Wheeler finished the game in the last 30 minutes and was solid with four saves on the net.

WOU will travel to Seattle Pacific next Friday and Saturday to play two games against the Falcons. Both games start at 3 p.m.
