ST. JAMES — The Springfield Legion Post 257 baseball team cruised to an 11-1 win in five innings over Blue Earth in a first-round Division 2, Southwest Sub-State Legion Baseball Tournament game Thursday.
Jakob Nachreiner was 3 for 3 with four RBIs and two doubles to lead Springfield, while Aiden Moriarty was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a double. Kyle Quesenberry got the win for Springfield in all five innings, giving up six hits and two walks for one earned run while striking out one.
Springfield will now take on Luverne, who topped Windom 4-3 on Thursday, at 5 pm on Friday in St James.
