The ship was officially returned to Windstar Cruises in Palermo, Italy

Windstar Cruises has received Star Legend back from Fincantieri in Palermo, Italy after an extension and renovation project under the cruise line’s $ 250 million Star Plus initiative.

A new section has been added to the ship that adds 50 suites with open floor plan configurations. Two larger owner’s suites have also been added, which can be combined to form a three-bedroom suite with two balconies with an area of ​​over 1,300 square meters.

The ship was also equipped with new and redesigned public areas on board, including two restaurants, an enlarged spa and fitness center, and a larger pool and whirlpool. Updated bathrooms have been installed in every suite on board, and two tenders for 90 passengers will make us a tender bed and elevator in the middle of the ship. New engines, diesel generators and an advanced wastewater treatment system have also been added.

The ship was also newly renovated, which became part of the project after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. These include highly efficient particle filters and UV-C-UV germicidal radiation to filter and disinfect the air, as well as electrostatic sprayers to disinfect all surfaces throughout the ship.

Star Legend will start in Northern Europe on September 4th with a sailing tour “Belles of the British Isles” from London, Great Britain. Proof of vaccination is required for all guests sailing aboard the Windstar ships.
