The St. Thomas More volleyball team finished the regular season in victory when they defeated Douglas in Rapid City on Tuesday night.

The Cavaliers opened the game with a 25-17 win in the first set, took the second set 25:12 and finished it with a 25:21 win in the third.

Reese Ross stepped through the Cavs with 11 kills, Marian Duffy added seven kills and six trenches, and Megan Lee finished with three blocks.

Dani Godkin helped with 15 assists, three aces and three blocks for STM.

The Cavaliers finished the regular season 21-13 while the Patriots (8-19) received Rapid City Stevens on Thursday.

CUSTER 3, LEAD DEADWOOD 1: The Wildcats ended the regular season in victory when they beat the Golddiggers in lead on Tuesday night.

Custer started the game 2-0 up with 25-21 and 25-18 wins, but Lead Deadwood struggled back to win the third set by 25-21.

The Wildcats recovered in the fourth set and continued the match with a 25:21 win.

Jayna Prince drove the Golddiggers up with 10 kills, Piper Rogers had 25 assists and Allison Mollman finished the race with 12 digs.

The Wildcats finished the regular season 10-15 while the Golddiggers (4-21) play at Belle Fourche on Thursday.

FAST CITY STEVENS 3, STURGIS 0: Rapid City Stevens lost a four-way battle in Sturgis on Tuesday evening with a victory over the Scoopers.

The Raiders got off to a quick start in the first set and took advantage of an early 11-1 lead to take the 25:20 win.

Stevens defeated the Scoopers 25:23 in the second to make it 2-0 and finished with a 25:20 win in the third.

No additional information was provided for this game.

The Raiders (14-15) play at Douglas on Thursday, while Sturgis (9-19) play at Rapid City Central on Tuesday.

Rush goalkeeper Tendeck called to Tucson

The Rapid City Rush announced Tuesday that goalkeeper David Tendeck of the Arizona Coyotes has been reassigned to the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners.

Tendeck started both Rapid City games on the opening weekend and went 1: 1-0 with 3.01 goals against the average and 0.918 save percent. He helped win the rush on Friday night by hitting a career high in a 4-2 win over the Tulsa Oilers with 42 saves and 44 shots.

The sophomore spent time with the Roadrunners in the 2020-21 season but did not appear in a game. With last season’s rush, he went 11-14-0 with a GAA of 2.78 and a save percentage of 0.909 in 27 games.
