Was one of your New Year’s resolutions to learn a new language?

Then we have the online resource for you. Transparent language online offers you over 100 languages to learn. The modules provide flexible learning pathways that include alphabet lessons, writing activities, and more. There are resources for learning English for 25 foreign languages.

Start your learning now and be ready to travel the world once the pandemic is over. I recommend learning the word for train station. You don’t want to get stuck in the center of a city in a strange land asking the locals by doing wheel movements with your arms and chugging choo choo. Don’t ask me how I know

Our second new resource is aimed at high school students and adult learners.

Learning Express Library Complete has resources for improving academic skills, preparing for standardized high-stakes tests, and exploring colleges and careers. There are tutorials on how to improve adult core skills such as math, reading, writing, and grammar.

Users can also learn the basics of using a computer, navigating the Internet, and using common software programs. Most exciting are the free study modules for standardized tests such as ASVAB, GED, ACT, SAT and many final exams. Test prep print books cost hundreds of dollars, and this online resource is available to all for free.

Access to these resources is easy. There are links on the library website www.stanlycountylibrary.org. A library card and PIN are required, but library cards are free for Stanly County residents and can be obtained online. If you have problems accessing the resources, you can also contact the circulation desk in the Albemarle Library at 704-986-3755 for assistance.

These two online resources and many more (e-books and research databases) are made available to the library by NCLive, an organization that uses collaborative purchasing to buy resources at the best prices and to make them available to libraries, community colleges and universities around the world Provides state.

NCLive is partially funded by NC legislation. Many thanks to the local representatives for funding these resources. If you have a library card at the Stanly Community College or Pfeiffer University libraries, you can also access all NCLive resources.

For readers, be sure to check out the link on the PopSugar 2021 Reading Challenge. If you’re looking for a book that does the prompt – a book about revisions or new beginnings – I highly recommend The Camp Queen of Minnesota by J. Ryan Stradal.
