Schools across the UK can experience iconic history live on stage in a selection of local venues including Aylesbury, Southampton, Sunderland, Salford, Cardiff, Aberdeen, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Canterbury, Plymouth, Glasgow, Birmingham, Dublin and Woking before the The tour ends on April 9, 2022 at the Norwich Theater Royal.

The production has an age recommendation of six or older, which makes it suitable for both primary and secondary school children. In addition, the nature of the show means that visiting schools can develop key themes and themes in the classroom with a special package of educational resources that compliments the journey and aims to explore production in more depth.

Highlights of the educational package

  • The actor-musician cast will use live music and a variety of forms of theater, including puppetry, to tell Lewis’ classic story.
  • Instructions and information to support live production analysis at GCSE and A levels (suitable for all four examination boards and their specifications).
  • Studio activities to support written and designed exam performance at both GCSE and A levels, with an emphasis on customization, characterization, performance styles and key design elements.
  • Interviews with key members of the creative team to help students understand roles and responsibilities in theater to support GCSE drama and your school’s career work.
  • Contextual and historical details in support of the study of the work of CS Lewis.
  • Essential Stage 2 and 3 studio activities to further explore the piece after students watch the show
  • Video material to inspire, support and encourage students to apply what they see in this production in their own work.

About the show

After the production ran in London in 2019 and February 2020, schools can step through the cloakroom and into the “enchanted kingdom” of Narnia again.

Students can join Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter as they bid farewell to Britain and go on an adventure in a frozen, distant land where they will see a talking faun, beaver, the King of Narnia, Aslan, the lion, and meet the wicked white witch.

Samantha Womack plays the White Witch, Ammar Duffus as Peter Pevensie, Shaka Kalokoh as Edmund Pevensie, Robyn Sinclair as Susan Pevensie and Karise Yansen as Lucy Pevensie.

Aslan is played by Chris Jared, Mr Tumnus by Jez Unwin, Mr Beaver by Sam Buttery and Maugrim by Michael Ahomka-Lindsay.
