The great tennis player Roger Federer is the official brand ambassador for Switzerland Tourism (ST), the country’s national tourism authority.

“Roger Federer and Switzerland Tourism will jointly develop initiatives to promote Switzerland around the world. The support is urgently needed at the moment, as it has emerged from the biggest tourism crisis since the Second World War,” the board said in a statement on Monday.

A series of pictures and short clips shows Roger Federer, “who is driven by Swiss nature”.

“Communication activities will begin during the month of April with a focus on European cities, followed by the US and Asia-Pacific region, especially India. (Federer) will showcase its favorite locations, Swiss highlights and hidden gems,” said ST.

Federer, a 20-time Grand Slam champion, was born in Basel, the third largest city in Switzerland, and lives in the northern municipality of Bottmingen.

“I’ve been all over the world. My favorite place has always been Switzerland. It’s the country that I miss most when I’m traveling,” said Federer. – IANS
