Two travel resources have teamed up to deliver safe, affordable, and women-friendly travel experiences for women.

The aptly named Women travel around the world is a “highly specialized search engine” that offers women-friendly tours, retreats, guides and accommodation in more than 100 countries.

Originally introduced in 2009, the site has been acquired this week from Toronto-based Travel woman—A solo travel and safety resource for women.

“For nearly 30 years, JourneyWoman’s ethos has been to help women travel safely and safely,” said CEO Carolyn Ray.

“Women make most of the travel decisions, but our research shows that finding safe, affordable, and women-friendly experiences is extremely difficult.”

Every entry on Women Travel the World has been verified “by women for women”.

The website provides access to over 750 companies focusing on slow, adventure, spa and luxury travel, including LGBTQ + and indigenous tourism.

“Women have unique travel criteria, including cost, safety and cleanliness – which will be more important after the pandemic.” said Ray.

“Our research shows that 80% of women choose a tour, accommodation or retreat if it has been confirmed by JourneyWoman as safe and women-friendly.”

By combining Women Travel the World with the existing “Travel directory for women“The company will offer the” world’s largest “directory of verified, women-friendly companies.

JourneyWoman indicated that the merger will also help support women-run, women-friendly tourism businesses that are “hard hit” by COVID-19.

“Now more than ever, women need confidence that they are choosing a women-friendly company that is tailored to their needs, including safety and value.” said Jennifer Haddow, CEO of Wild Women Expeditions in British Columbia.

“JourneyWoman’s new website will help you find the experience of your dreams and target women businesses around the world.”
