According to the study, over two-thirds of Americans (67%) plan to travel June 1 through August 31 this summer, a 17% increase over those who traveled this spring.
The results also show that millennials are most excited about getting out, with the vast majority (72%) of the generation planning to travel. Although many still plan to drive to their destination by car (43%), 19% plan to fly, 4% more than this spring.
Of those planning a trip, 74% of Americans will travel domestically in 2021 and 13% will travel internationally.
Globally, Americans are the biggest summer spenders planning to spend 9% more than the average traveler around the world.
