The Jammu Tourism Directorate organized a one-day trek from Sarain to Mansar via Dhergarh today in collaboration with Tawi Trekkers.

A group of around 80 trekkers was canceled by Mayor Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, and joint tourism director Neelam Khajuria from Kala Kendra, Jammu.

A special attraction of the trekking expedition was the participation of a 76-year-old 11-year-old trekker.

The joint tourism director Jammu announced that the motive for the organization of this trek was a comprehensive education of the Purmandal Surinsar area and the possibility of connecting Purmandal Surinsar Mohergarh Bhupnergarh as an adventure and leisure route.

“Promoting the Jammu Division’s unexplored goals will boost the region’s economy and create employment opportunities for the host population,” she said. She also announced that a number of adventure activities are planned for the coming days, including the bi-cycle rally to mark World Wetlands Day on February 2, 2021 from RS Pura to Suchetgarh Border. 2nd bike rally from Jammu-Patnitop-Dudu Basantgarh-Ramnagar-Mansar-Jammu and trekking expeditions in the districts of Doda and Ramban.

She asked the trekkers to explore the great outdoors while walking through the Mansar-Surinsar Wildlife Sanctuary.

Deputy Director, Tourism, Ambika Bali; Adviser Tawi Trekkers, Prof. Lalit Mangotra, and President Tawi Trekkers, Ram Khajuria, as well as other senior officials from the Tourism Department attended the occasion.
