Tourism New Zealand has launched its first major campaign since quarantine-free travel between Australia and New Zealand opened. The campaign, entitled “Stop Dreaming about New Zealand and Go”, was created in collaboration with the Special Group.

The playful campaign emphasizes New Zealand’s breathtaking landscapes and welcoming people. The focus is on offering Australians a dream vacation. The ads feature an Australian and its New Zealand guidebook and show a range of experiences from fine dining to jet boating.

Declan Malone, Australia’s Marketing Director for Tourism in New Zealand said, “We know that overseas travel is one of the most missed activities for Australians, previously accounting for 40 percent of international arrivals in New Zealand. We wanted to remind our friends in Australia that New Zealand’s beautiful landscapes, open spaces and welcoming people are just a short flight away. “

“After being in Australia for over a year, Australians dreamed of quarantine travel everywhere and New Zealand is now ready and waiting,” said Tom Martin, CCO and partner of Special Group Australia. “We wanted to create the New Zealand version of that dream, filled with the tone and down-to-earth charm that kiwis are famous for.”

The campaign was launched in Australia on May 6th and will run for 12 weeks across all major channels including cinema, television, on-demand, OLV, social, radio, digital audio, digital display. It is supported by PR and trading activities.
