At the time of this press release, there are 52 days in August and September available for booking. In addition, more than 1,000 passes are available daily this summer for those who can plan seven days in advance.

“About 90% of visitors to our Oakhurst Visitor Center don’t know that a day reservation is required,” chirped Brooke Smith, spokeswoman for Visit Yosemite | Madera county. “If these travelers had known they were only looking a week in advance, they would have discovered more than 1,000 available tickets per day. The system is frustrating and leaves visitors and locals alike feeling locked out of their public lands.
